The Bideford Half Marathon is organised by Bideford AC who promise quick times in this "swift half!" The race passes the River Torridge between Bideford and Great Torrington - a beautiful part of the Devon countryside classed as an Area of Outstanding Beauty.
During the first half of the race, runners pass through gently undulating country roads before enjoying the almost virtually level Tarka Trail - a former railway line. You even get to run through a tunnel - there's always a few who can't resist making "choo" "choo" sounds!Race Website
Really enjoyed this run!! Great organization, lovely friendly marshals and volunteers! Really loved and appreciated the bagpipers and samba band! Great course and a new PB and the weather was kind! Thankyou to all!
Thank you for a wonderful day. The weather was on our side. Great course
A good race, really well marshalled and organised. Special thanks to all the marshals cheerfully encouraging us but probably getting quite chilly standing around in the wind and drizzle. Thanks again to all involved. Mary (Tiverton Harriers)
Thanks for a great run and to the organisers, marshals, bagpipe and samba bands.
Second time doing this and again, well organised as ever. Thanks to all the marshals, catering staff and Bideford A.A.C for putting it on. Great half for anyone wanting a pb! ...will be back again, oh and thanks for the bottle of bubbly with the old birds trinket I managed to get :-)
