Birmingham And Black Country Half Marathon

About

As the race takes place along a towpath this half is in the format of a time trial with runners starting in waves of different abilities from 9am to around 11.30am. This is to ease congestion and make the running experience more enjoyable for everyone. A point to point race from Wolverhampton to Birmingham with several very welcome pubs at the end!

The Course

A flat route along towpaths to the side of a canal intersected with 'lumps' over bridges along the route. Not surprisingly these increase in frequency towards the end of the route when nearing Birmingham. The terrain is a mix of well kept gravel paths, brick paving and un-kept surfaces. The 360 yard tunnel at Coseley is definately a marmite point in the race - you'll either love it or hate it!
